Calling himself the “homeless trucker,” Dwaine was passing by another calendar shoot and was excited to be asked to pose in this calendar. Dwaine lost everything during the pandemic, including his job and housing, and started trucking, as “it was the most interesting thing I could find.” He is in and out of Salt Lake City twice a week, but drives all over the country, living in his truck. He hasn’t had an address for three years, and saves as much as he can so he can buy his own truck and purchase a plot of land. “40 acres, if possible.” But saving is difficult, as being homeless is expensive and he’s only saved $20,000 in three years. As is maintaining a truck, with tires, oil changes and maintenance eating into his dream fund. He’s looking forward to being an owner operator and sustaining some type of home for himself. He loves the outdoors, salt or fresh-water “catch and release” fishing, and hiking.
