Born in Puerto Rico, soft-spoken Jose has been homeless for nearly 8 years, after losing his job at Snowbird Resort not long after immigrating to America in hopes of achieving the American Dream.
Jose dreams of going back to Puerto Rico.
Without a family and support system to help him get back on his feet, Jose is having a hard time escaping homelessness.
He admits to sometimes having depression, “or bad luck, lose a job in new country. You’re alone, you don’t have support, [it’s] difficult kind of. I had two degrees in university, culinary art, and accounting marketing and management.” He dreams of “trying to find a job quickly and trying to make my home” and “maybe make enough to go back to my country, Puerto Rico.”
