Nomad Alliance Shoots 2026 “Sexy Nomad” Calendar Today

Challenging Stereotypes and Sparking Global Dialogue on Homelessness
Salt Lake County, UT — Today, from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the Nomad Alliance invites media, community members, and supporters to witness the making of the 2026 Sexy Nomad Calendar—a bold, controversial, and internationally recognized project aimed at changing how we see the chronically unsheltered.
Lauded by the Washington Post, Daily Mail, Telegraph UK, and covered by every major Utah news outlet and even a Russian newspaper, the Sexy Nomad Calendar has become more than just a photoshoot—it’s a movement. It asks the provocative question: Why can firefighters be seen as attractive and dignified, but not the homeless?
The calendar features men who are currently or formerly chronically unsheltered—modeling in the very places they have slept. Each image is paired with a deeply personal biography, sharing the stories behind their homelessness: childhood trauma, military service, addiction, injury, systemic neglect, and more. These are not just “models”—they are survivors, storytellers, and human beings reclaiming their identity and dignity.
“It’s easy to feel empathy for a homeless family or woman—there’s an instinct to protect,” said Kseniya Kniazeva, Nomad Alliance Founder. “But the vast majority of the chronically unsheltered are men, and they are often overlooked. This calendar is our way of forcing the world to really see them.”
Why This Matters
70% of the chronically unsheltered are men, yet they receive the least support.
The calendar helps these men see themselves differently—sometimes for the first time—as valuable, strong, and worthy.
Modeling builds self-worth and confidence, which can be the catalyst for sobriety, healing, and reintegration.
Nomad Alliance doesn’t stop at the photoshoot. The nonprofit supports its calendar models year-round—offering ID recovery, detox support, clean clothing, sleeping bags, leadership training, job readiness programs and so much more. And today's shoots have started with showers, haircuts and a mini shopping spree at the DI. The Deseret Industries donated $250 worth of clothing, shoes and even towels to each of the six models, a shirt, pair of pants, jacket, shoes, belt, socks and underwear for each man.
One former model, known as Bumblebee, will assist at today’s shoot. He’s now off the street—crediting the calendar with reminding him of his value and sparking his transformation.

Brad, a model from the 2023 Sexy Nomad Calendar said about the experience, "It was great, it was awesome. It made me feel good. It made me feel alive again, know what I mean? It brought the goodness out in me again."

“We love it when someone says, ‘He doesn’t look homeless.’ Exactly. That’s the point.”
Join us today as we break stereotypes, uplift voices, and photograph resilience in places most people look away from.
