Solving Family Homelessness Creatively

Updated: Nov 4

Nomad Alliance saves the families which fall through the cracks

More than ten families have been housed creatively via the power of community. Brandee was camping next to the train tracks, alone, eight and a half months pregnant when we met her doing the Point In Count Time Count. The Nomad Alliance housed her and her newborn in mere days of having her baby, with no other options, keeping the family together through DCFS involvement. We've housed nearly early a dozen others the systems has failed. Brandee's family is together now, happy and thriving. Now Brandee serves the people she used to live alongside. This is what community can do. ❤️

This is an article about a family experiencing homelessness in Utah. It discusses the challenges they faced finding shelter, and the assistance they received from a nonprofit organization. The family was able to move into a donated RV camper parked at an RV park. The nonprofit is hoping to provide similar temporary housing solutions to more families in need.

This is an article about homeless pregnant women finding homes for themselves and their newborns. It discusses the difficulties homeless pregnant women face and the resources available to help them. Two Utah mothers, Brandee Woodard and Hanna Haas, share their experiences. Woodard was afraid to go to a shelter and ended up living in a tent until she was connected with a non-profit organization that helped her find a room to rent. Haas left an abusive relationship and stayed at a domestic violence shelter before moving to a transitional housing program. Both mothers credit the programs they entered with helping them get back on their feet.
