Quicc, 42, was born in Charleston, SC but spent most of his childhood in Las Vegas where he lived with his aunt and cousins. He says he lived a “normal life” there without the regular beatings received at the hands of a very troubled mother.

The soft-spoken Gen-Xer moved to Salt Lake City, UT two years ago to be closer to his two youngest children, a daughter, 13 and his son, who is six. Their mother died several years ago. He has an older son, 23, who still lives in Las Vegas. Quicc, has been homeless since he arrived in Salt Lake City. He says, “I have no family, no real help, and I couldn’t do the shelters, so I started living day to day.”
