Nomad hosts speed chats between leaders & unsheltered, lobbying training w/ ACLU Utah Sun the 8th

Please join the Nomad Alliance as we host 55th Nomad Supply Drive and serve hot food, blankets, clothing, hygiene items, free phones/tablets, first aid and haircuts!

Utah State House Of Representatives Rep. Angela Romero, Council Woman Victoria Petro-Eschler, SLC District 1 and Salt Lake City Councilwoman Analia Valdemoros will participate in speed chats or short rotating conversations with our nomads, to better inform policy decisions (with Analia joining virtually).

Billy Palmer of ACLU Utah will be conducting a brief lobbying training, the first of many trainings to teach our nomads how to self advocate, lobby, and present 2-minute speeches in committee meetings to make their voices and needs heard.

Rakay Michael, Trial Attorney with the Salt Lake Legal Defenders, will be training our unsheltered friends of their rights vis-a-vis the police.

Alex Sanches of the Legal Defenders will be running warrants and expunging records based on Clean Slate Utah.

We could use more volunteers, and as always, clothing (especially for men, boots, hoodies, coats, underwear, socks pants sizes 28-32), blankets/sleeping bags, tents, hand warmers, sternos, tarps, hand sanitizer, hygiene products and more.
